    Founders of Key Labs & KOS pharma – not once but twice started up pharma companies
    Founder of Marion Labs – another legacy of rising beyond expectations

    Dr. David Phillips of COR Therapeutics, invented a whole test of an important end point of platelet expression in defining the GPIIb/IIIa receptor site plus the entire drug class, his legacy continues with Portola Pharma to this day.

    Art Levinson and Genentech. The oldest biotech company that proved that making proteins and monoclonal antibodies could be profitable and life changing. Art transformed the company by focusing on unmet medical needs and pushing research beyond traditional channels.

    Dr. Paul Janssen, founder of Janssen Pharmaceutica (part of J&J), succesfully developed 75 drugs between 1960 and 1995, including a couple on the WHO list of essential medecines. He changed the life of psychiatric patients forever by introducing haldol and risperdal, created single-handedly the market for antifungals and developed a whole range of anesthetics, including the most powerful anesthetic on earth. His mantra was ‘look at the whole patient’ not a single molecular target.

    Merck & Co has contributed so much in many therpeutic areas. If Merck was not there what would have been ?
